If you’re a baseball fan there’s no better channel for 24/7 coverage of Major League Baseball than MLB Network, but how do you watch MLB Network without cable?
Unlike many other sports networks, MLB Network is particularly elusive to cord-cutters, especially after YouTube TV dropped the channel in late January.
The good news is you can watch MLB Network on Sling TV, fuboTV, and DirecTV Stream.
In this article, we’ll discuss each of these three ways to stream MLB Network and find you the cheapest way to watch throughout the season.
3 Cheapest Ways To Stream MLB Network
- Cheapest Option – Sling TV
- Most Sports Channels – fuboTV
- Includes Local MLB Broadcasts – DirecTV Stream
Cheapest Option – Sling TV + Sports Extra Add-On
As usual, the cheapest way to stream MLB Network is Sling TV but to get it you’ll need one of Sling’s three base packages along with the Sports Extra add-on, which costs an additional $11.99 per month.
That said, given the shortage of streaming services that offer MLB Network and even with the extra monthly cost it’s still the cheapest way to stream MLB Network.
As we mentioned in our Sling TV review, Sling offers three base packages… Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and the combo package of Sling Orange & Blue. To get MLB Network you’ll need to subscribe to one of these options below.
Sling TV MLB Network Options
- Sling Orange ($40/mo) + Sports Extra add-on ($11.99)
- Sling Blue ($40/mo) + Sports Extra add-on ($11.99)
- Sling Orange & Blue ($55/mo) + Sports Extra add-on ($11.99)
Sling TV First Month Discount
If you’re a new subscriber to Sling TV you can save even more with a discount of $10 off your first month of service. For the Orange plan or the Blue plan that would be $30 for the first month, or $45 for the first month for the Orange & Blue plan.
Sling TV is available on streaming platforms including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, XBox, Android, iOS, and most Smart TVs.
Most Sports Channels – fuboTV
The next cheapest option for MLB Network is fuboTV, which is known for its sports coverage.
Like Sling, fuboTV does not include MLB Network in their cheapest base plan so you’ll need to upgrade to their Elite Plan, which features 220 channels for $84.99 per month, or choose the $74.99 Pro plan along with one of the following add-on packages.
fuboTV MLB Network Options
- fuboTV Pro plan + Fubo Extra add-on ($7.99) – $82.98/mo Total
- fuboTV Pro plan + Sports Lite add-on ($9.99) – $84.98/mo Total
- fuboTV Pro plan + Sports Plus with RedZone add-on ($10.99) – $85.98/mo Total
- fuboTV Elite plan – $84.99/mo total
Any of these four options will give you access to MLB Network, the only difference in the plans is the number of other channels you’d like. I’m personally partial to the NFL RedZone package, but choose the option that works best for you.
fuboTV 7 Day Free Trial
If you would like to give it a try for yourself you can get a Free 7-day Trial of fuboTV to see how you like it. If you love it you can just continue your service after the trial or if not you can cancel at any time.
fuboTV can be viewed on many streaming devices including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, Xbox and many Smart TV brands.
Includes Local MLB Broadcasts – DirecTV Stream
The third and final option to watch MLB Network is DirecTV Stream, the streaming tv service from the satellite giant DirecTV.
To get MLB Network on DirecTV Stream you’ll need to subscribe to the Choice plan (2nd tier) or higher, which costs $99.99 per month.
Thankfully, no add-on packages are required for this option.
Although DirecTV Stream generally runs a bit more expensive than most live TV streaming services but offers a lot of channels in exchange, including regional sports networks (in most markets), so you can watch your local MLB team’s games throughout the season.
DirecTV Stream First Three Month Discount
To save you even more money, DirecTV Stream is offering a $10 per month discount for the first three months for new customers only. This would drop the cost of the Choice plan to $89.99 per month for a good portion of the baseball season and give you some time to decide whether or not you like the service.
DirecTV Stream is available on most devices including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, and Android, as well as many brands of Smart TVs.
